Educator. Pastor. Your Voice in Nashville.
Monica has called Tennessee home for nearly 30 years, most of which she's spent right here in Cumberland County. She and her family live in the middle of town with her husband, Joe, and their son Dakota, a student at Tennessee College of Applied Technology. Their other son, Dylan, lives in the Breckinridge area of the county. They have two daughters: Jill and her family in Gallatin, and Alli and her family in Nolensville.
Monica has been a public school teacher and teacher trainer, and a political advocate for early care and education. In 2004, she answered the call to ministry in the United Methodist Church. She has served three churches in the Cumberland County area: Homestead UMC, Grassy Cove UMC, and Dorton UMC.
Monica is currently the pastor for WellSpring UMC here in Cumberland County, a gathering of small worship groups. She can also be found preaching for The Vine UMC, an online worship platform.
She is for You. She is for Tennessee.
Because the people of the Cumberland Plateau deserve a representative immersed in life here.
Monica's decision to run to represent Cumberland County is rooted in the fabric of this community. The people of the Cumberland Plateau are a wonderful and unique group who deserve a representative at the Tennessee State House that is immersed in life here.
You will see her in the stores, in the parks, and in the restaurants of the community, supporting local businesses. She isn't running to build a political career. She's running because the people of District 25 deserve someone who shows up, who listens, and who fights for them every single day.
From fighting for better healthcare access to supporting our public schools, Monica will put the people of Cumberland and Putnam County first.
Join the CampaignWhether in the classroom, the pulpit, or the community, Monica has spent her career showing up for people. Her experience spans education, ministry, and advocacy -- always centered on lifting up the people around her.
